The reason why I chose Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is because of the exemplary way their Sisterhood was represented and how genuine they were. I knew that SGRho was for me because of the way they supported not only one another, but those around them. I am proud to be a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.!

The very first thing that captured my attention about Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority when I attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore was the passion, soul, and DIVERSITY. Then soon after graduating from Howard University God finally allowed me the opportunity to officially become a member with the Phenomenal Phi Sigma Alumnae Chapter in Washington, DC where I immediately noticed and embraced that our COMMUNITY SERVICE events were key.

Not one to leap before carefully observing, I checked out the four sororities and was drawn to Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. They were a small group of women who possessed the attributes of sisterhood and friendship that I desired. I found those ladies to be peculiar and set apart, not fitting into the same mold as the other Divine Nine Sororities. As a Christian, I knew that The Word of God instructs us to be set apart from the world. I felt that Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. exemplified being different and not conforming to the world. Therefore, I became a member of this great Sorority over forty years ago and I have never regretted my decision.

When I began to study and read about the ladies of Sigma; it became crystal clear! Greater progress, Greater service resonated with me on so many levels. Then I attended a youth symposium that was simply amazing! When my daughter's turned to me and asked, "Are you going to join them?" It was all the confirmation I needed.
Spring 2021 it was official. In the land of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., I will forever be known as Dr. Composure!!

I stumbled upon Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. while in undergrad. I was doing my research and wanted something different. While researching nothing quite felt right. It was then when I met a group of SGRhos at an event. They were the epitome of sisterhood. They were the nicest group of women that I ever met. They took to me as I took too them. From that moment on I knew I wanted to be apart of this Organization.
