Since our founding on November 12, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana at Butler University by seven African American school teachers, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. continues its commitment to the tenets of excellence in Scholarship, Sisterhood and Service. For more than nine decades, the dynamic women of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. from all races, religions, and professional backgrounds have built and sustained a well-known and respected reputation for not only leading positive change, but more importantly, inspiring others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more. Mu Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated, is dedicated to continuing this dedication to sisterhood, service, and scholarship. The Sorority is a conduit through which individuals can grow and develop, personally and professionally, while simultaneously providing “Greater Service, Greater Progress.”

Membership in Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority, Incorporated should not be solicited at any time. Graduate membership is by invitation only. Visiting Members
Meetings of Mu Lambda Sigma Chapter are open to members of Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority, Incorporated only. The chapter meets the first Saturday of each month and invites members, to those meetings.
